Over the course of this series we explored how science-fiction cinema has imagined humanity leaving Earth and venturing into the cosmos. From silent-era pioneers to modern blockbuster epics, space has always been one of the most powerful and enduring themes in sci-fi.
In this final episode of Journey Through Sci-Fi, we look back at the films, ideas and themes that shaped our journey through the space subgenre.
Because here on Journey Through Sci-Fi, our goal is simple: to explore the history of science-fiction cinema one subgenre at a time.

The Films That Defined Our Journey
Throughout the series we explored a wide range of space films, pairing movies from different eras to see how the genre has changed over time.
Along the way we encountered:

• Cold War-era dreams of space exploration
• stories about first contact with alien intelligence
• psychological dramas set in deep space
• survival stories about astronauts stranded far from Earth
Each film revealed a different aspect of humanity’s fascination with the cosmos.

To celebrate the end of the series, we also hand out our Journey Through Sci-Fi Space Awards.
