First introduced in The Original Series episode Mirror, Mirror, this alternate reality depicts a brutal empire where humans dominate the galaxy through violence and conquest.

Later series expanded this idea, showing how familiar characters might behave in a world defined by paranoia, ambition and betrayal.

The Mirror Universe offers a stark contrast to the Federation’s cooperative ideals, showing what humanity might become if power replaces morality.

Dark Societies and Moral Dilemmas

The crews of the Enterprise, Deep Space Nine and Voyager frequently encounter planets where:
