We’ve finally reached the end of our mini-series on The Expanse – and what a journey it’s been. From its noir detective beginnings on Ceres Station all the way to galaxy-shaking politics and alien mysteries, this show really pushed the boundaries of what sci-fi TV could be.
In our latest Patreon episode, we discuss the final season – the sixth and last chapter of the story. At just six episodes long, it had the challenge of wrapping up years of storytelling in a shorter run. We talk about how it handled that pressure, which character arcs hit the hardest, and whether the series finale stuck the landing. Spoiler: there’s a lot to say about Holden, Naomi, Amos, and that epic showdown with Marco Inaros.
We also take a step back to think about the legacy of The Expanse. This was the show that survived cancellation (cheers, Amazon...), gave us some of the most realistic space battles ever put on screen, and proved that audiences want complex, politically charged sci-fi if it’s done right. With its focus on believable science, multiculturalism, and boots-on-the-ground humanity in the middle of cosmic conflict, we think it set the bar for the next wave of space operas.
If you’ve loved revisiting the Belt, Mars, and Earth with us, this is your chance to hear the conclusion of our Expanse journey. The full mini-series – covering the highs, the lows, and everything in between – is available exclusively to our Patreon supporters.
So grab a ration pack, fire up the Rocinante, and join us for our last voyage through the worlds of The Expanse. We promise, it’s one hell of a ride.
